Borderline

This song was co-written by Eddie Huntington and our very own Jamie Sharratt, and was recorded and released on the album Last Man Standing by Dis-Honest Foke in 2018. This is our take on it under Jamie's careful supervision, of course!

Album Cover

Verse

I used to laugh with all my friends, good times were had for sure

'Til that day they walked away, wish I had foresaw

They'll use you and abuse you, friendship just on loan

And when they get just what they want they'll drop you like a stone

Chorus

Friendship ain't forever, it's nothing but a curse

They'll let you go and leave you low, will I ever learn?

Banished to the borderline of my universe

Banished there forever, never to return

Verse

Not a word to ease the hurt, it seems that they don't care

To the drink I buy to ease my mind through the darkness and despair

Engulf me in your warm embrace, to the valley of death

As the Devil dances on my tongue as I drink down my last breath

Chorus

Friendship ain't forever, it's nothing but a curse

They'll let you go and leave you low, will I ever learn?

Banished to the borderline of my universe

Banished there forever, never to return

Verse

Misty-eyed in the morning light from the hard night had before

Wine and beer and liquor and tears, battered bruised and sore

Now it's time that I moved on, no dwelling in the past

I'll never make the same mistakes, through the gauntlet I have passed

Chorus

Friendship ain't forever, it's nothing but a curse

They'll let you go and leave you low, will I ever learn?

Banished to the borderline of my universe

Banished there forever, never to return

Friendship ain't forever, it's nothing but a curse

They'll let you go and leave you low, will I ever learn?

Banished to the borderline of my universe

Banished there forever, never to return

Banished there forever, never to return
