It's been a busy old time in camp Darwin's, so probably time for an update really! We've had a fabulous run of gigs since we last posted, and some reviews have started to pop up for our album which is really thrilling - I'll pop a link to them below (as if nothing else, it helps us to keep track of them!)

A couple of weeks ago we were lucky enough to play the wonderful Valefest, we were beset with technical issues - firstly with Jamie's pedal board which meant he had to bypass them and go straight through the PA, and more seriously Warren's guitar was playing up. The sound crew worked like troopers to try to isolate and resolve the problem but with a tight festival slot, the show must go on! Ellie heroically filled the rhythm role and it was still a successful outing.

Martin got some great shots at Valefest (of course!)

If you want to get a feel for the amazing vibe Valefest brings, then you could do a lot worse than read this fabulous review by Lyric Lounge.

A great selection of shots from Valefest taken by Toby!

Last weekend was the magical weekend that is Ey Up Mi Duck, in many ways our spiritual home and unusually a chance for (nearly) all the band to spend the whole weekend and enjoy the full event (with Jim just spending the day). If you want a flavour of what this event is like, then check out Roger's excellent review - it's just such a great chilled out family friendly festival. We adore it and have done since its' inception nine years ago.

We loved our set - the technical gremlins were banished, just a spot of health issues - Warren cramping up meant for a quick set change at the end, and Alan's gammy back having a brief flare up at the end aside - it didn't spoil anything (of course it's a good idea to jump off the stage for the last song when your back is playing up, Alan!). The crowd was fabulous and it made for a special moment amongst many special moments over the weekend with such an amazing line-up.

That man Martin with the magic lens was on hand again!

Last night we made a debut appearance at KatiesFest at the amazing Katie Fitzgerald's in Stourbridge. A really fun pre-event-in-full night featuring Brian Stone and the Masters of None who put in a storming set, followed by us - we had a great time on stage and hopefully the crowd did too, and then Bleeding Hearts to finish. A thoroughly fun evening and a great warm up for the birthday party we're playing today which we're raring to go for!

Which brings us on to album related news - it seems to have been received really well, which we're very chuffed about. We are very proud of it - and whilst Russ's announcement at Ey Up Mi Duck that album number two wasn't exactly a lie, it's some way off yet so don't get too excited! It's been great to hear feedback from people we know, of course, but there's a frisson of extra excitement when we pick up independent reviews and airplay, here's a few we've spotted, thank you so much for taking the time to share our work with your audiences!

We've also been thrilled to get some airplay on Corby FM's Rock Show, The Schizophonic Show, The Rum Muse Sessions and Round at Milligan's. A huge thank you to Luke, Darren, Naomi and Dave for your support in sharing our racket with your audiences - it's hugely appreciated you beautiful people! Oooh, and we made it onto The Leyline's Disco Doris playlist too, a signal honour!

Speaking of The Leylines - we've snagged support slots for their tour dates in Nottingham and Sheffield later this year which we are beyond excited about. They're a huge influence of ours, an amazing band and it will be a real honour to share a stage with them later in the year! Ticket links are available on our Gig Dates page. Don't miss out on these, they promise to be amazing nights!

I think that's us all caught up for now - we're off to get ready for another barnstorming gig to celebrate our wonderful friend Tony's birthday! 'Til next time....
